Hi guys

Looking to buy the hd pvr 2p. Currently installed is a single decoder with a kinda old decoder(old enough so i cant even do extra view).

Any specials on the decoders anywhere? Secondly what would be the best/cheapest to buy for the future seeing this decoder can only handle one viewing at a time? Is the best to go for a quad/satcr lnb or a dual lnb with a 2x4 multi switch. As i just want to get the pvr 2p now and later add on a single view decoder for extra view?

Thanks

Hi,

Bought myself a HD PVR on the weekend. Best way to cable is twin LNB with 2 x 6 way multi switch (6 way so you can easily add the extra view later)

I bought mine at Game, everywhere I looked was the same pricing...

the small (i think 1131) decoder for the xtraview I got at home corp as they were the only guys who had them, everyone else only has the combo with dish in stock and i didn't need the dish...

Hi. Wont i just need a 2x4 multi switch with a dual lnb? then its 2x cables from the lnb to switch and then 4 outputs there, meaning i can have 2 for the baby hdpvr and 1 for the multiview? Or how do i go about the extraview cabling?

Exactly as you say. So you'll have a spare port if you have HDPVR 2P + single view decoder
For xtraview you also need another cable between the 2 decoders

ok thnx guys. Installation im gonna try myself first cuz i doubt it can be that hard. But first i would like to see the baby pvr on special.

Hi I just want to know if it's possible to set up a standard pvr up with a new p2 HD pvr so you can view 3 different channels in the 3 rooms at the same time and also have the record option .
If it's possible what set up will I need ?

stop posting the same question every where
yes you can, you need a dual LNB if you have the normal pvr you have that and a 2x4 multi switch, and a whole bunch of cables
