Want to do an installation in the house combining HD PVR and SD PVR for extraview.
1: Which decoder should i make as the primary? Which one would suit best?
2: Have two other tvs in other rooms that i want to connect then.
3: What multiswitch do i need?

Can i split the rf out from the secondary decoder to the other two rooms?
If so what splitter do i need?

Please explain the setup to me would appreciate it very much.

Thanks alot.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it!

Just another thing: So i would need two sets of remote blasters for this setup right? Or is very another way to tune the channels in each room?

Thanks

Twin LNB with 2x4 multiswitch. Decoders in same room. RF out from both decoders into T-piece, with DC block on one line. Third line from T-piece into 4-way powered SLx splitter. Line from splitter to every TV, with TVlink at each TV for controlling both decoders. Details in XtraView manual... Sorted. It's a pleasure :)

Oh so you will be able to control both decoders then?

So if there is a remore blaster allready in the house can i just get a TV link for the other room and all will be fine then right?

Thanks

Why do you want to use the blaster? TVlinks are cheap and designed for the system. Personally I hate wireless blasters.

Me too do not like blasters that much. No it is just that currently there is a remote blaster, so can i use that for the one room and then the tv link for the other room then?

So your saying that TV links are better for the system why is that?

Thanks

Yes, from experience. With all due respect, something you need. Sounds like you're becoming an installer... Maybe work with an experienced guy for a while.

Will this setup work?

The two LNB cables into the 2x6 multiswitch,
from multiswitch four cables into HD PVR which is my primary off course,
two cables into SD PVR,
connect heartbeat cable rf in to rf in.
Then run rf out from HD PVR into a t-piece, then into rf in at an active splitter, from there two cables from rf out to two seperate rooms.
Put a TV link at each room or in this case the person has one set of remote blasters so i will use the set for tv room and one bedroom and the other room i will use a tv link.

Does this sound right?

Thanks

How much are you charging your client THIS time?

And do you have some kind of contract to sell remote blasters by any chance?

No. If you do it like that, the TVlink will not work. I explained the correct setup in the other HD + SD XtraView thread...

So with this setup did you connect your heartbeat cable rf in to rf in then?

What if i do not use a dc block on the one line?

Thanks

No! It goes from the RF out, through the T-piece, to the RF out of the other decoder. If you use RF in to RF in, the TVlink WILL NOT WORK. Also, why would I say that you have to use a DC block, if it was not necessary? This is the last advice that I'm giving you on this subject. Now you can go and do your own research and testing... Seriously.

Yes but the thing is i live in a small town where i cannot get my hands on a dc block that is why i was asking about it.

If you don't use the DC block, the heartbeat will have intermittent failures.

Do it without, but if you have problems, get one...

Is there nothing else i can use instead of the dc block that could work too?

I am sorry for all my questions but i am getting there and someday i will not have to ask that much at all.
