I am having trouble with my HD PVR, I seem to have a problem with either the Multiswitch, or the LNB cable itself. My PVR's HDMI port got hit and stopped working, along with the signal. I have replaced the Decoder but it seems some else was hit.

My first question is, is there a way to tell if the Multiswitch has been hit by lightning?

My second question is, does anyone know if the LNB cables need to go in a specific order into the Multiswitch? I noticed my multiswitch has LNB A 13V and LNB B 18V.

When I plug all the cables in, nothing seems to happen (When I look at the signal status), Sometimes Tuner 4 shows a signal.

When I unplug all the cables and plug just the one LNB cable into the first LNB port, my picture shows for certain channels.

Does anyone know what the 4 ports are for?

It doesn't matter which cables from the LNB go into which multiswitch port
It also doesnt matter which of the 4 outputs of the multiswitch go into which port on the HDPVR
The 4 LNB inputs on the HDPVR are for:
1 - live TV & 1st two lines of TV Guide
2 - recording 1
3 - recording 2
4 - TV Guide & data

Try go direct from dish to ports 1 & 4 on the HDPVR, if you get live TV & your full TV guide works then the LNB is fine
Then connect the multiswitch back up & try figure out if you have a faulty port on the it
