HD PVR Remote control sensitivity

I am asking this on behalf of my parents in Durbs.

They complain to me that the new HD PVR (latest model) that I bought for them just the other day is too sensitive when changing channels with the remote. ie When they press P+ it jumps 20 or so stations. when punching in "402" they'll get "400" or "444".

Is there a sensitivity setting for the remote?

no problems with my DSTV HD Decoder with relation to the remote, i find it to slow actually... specially with fast forward / re-wind etc.. but hey.. thats Multichoice for you... (I have the older PACE decoder). I assume by you saying latest model they have the UEC Model (white decoder)

You sure they dont have another decoder connected to it that is relayed remote commands so it receives everything twice?

Yeah,they have extra view with another decoder.
Just a note, some TV guy just went there and fiddled with the back of the decoder and its all working again. Any Idea what he might have done?
