HD-PVR Specials...

Functionally yes... but hardware quality? I think the Pace might be better. Will only know when we test the UEC, when it is finally released.

Well you have a point, my insider has told me a few things just a few minutes ago....

For one, it would seem that we are going to see the UEC decoder released on the 4th of December. And secondly (allthough it is a fugly looking thing) it has been tested so well (should think so after a year of delays) that they reckon it is way more stable than the pace model... no freezes on it at all, using the exact same firmware as the pace. And thirdly, it is capable of dual view, but multichoice will not sell it with that functionality :( hmmmm why??

Also there is a limited production run on these, so those who get it are gonna be smiling! So now i'm peeved at my one month old Pace HD-PVR, I had waited and waited for the UEC, but gave up.... man i hate "Murphy's Law"

Reading all this it seems as if I should wait - maybe for a few years !!!

Doesn't sound as if MC know what they are doing.

I presume that you are talking about this.

Irrespective of the looks, the specs look OK. If it works as it should then it may be OK - could do the trick for me !

I like the eSATA interface.

and you like the eSATA interface for what?

If MC use that model for their HDPVR then they'll disable the USB, the eSATA, and the ethernet port like they have on the Pace model.

As for the dual view aspect... it might be possible to do dual view, but you have to choose between record 2 or watch 2... you can't have both because there are only 4 tuners.

Would be a pity if MC cripple the HDPVR :(

As for the dual view, would be cool if that is user configurable, wonder what the chances of that are.

Would be?

They will cripple it, just like they did the SDPVR and the Pace HDPVR.

As for it being user configurable, zero, its MC.....

That UEC decoder doesn't seem to support dual outputs anyway. It has many outputs but they don't seem to be configured to output simultaneously.

The UEC decoder will not be released with dual view functionality, and will not be user configerable to do it. It is to operate exactly the same as the Pace decoder with the same firmware.
