The diagram in the Xtraview manual is terrible so I made my own. Feel free to correct it if you spot a problem.

Go the RF out to RF out route... Then you can have control of the SD at TV2 and TV3. As you have it now, you can only control the HD.

SD RF out to T-piece with DC block -> HD RF out to T-piece -> Third leg of T-piece to SLx. Rest stays as is. Change XtraView settings accordingly.

So nothing connected to HD PVR RF IN? I don't have a t-piece so will try it when I get one.

abzo, are you already set up as per your pic. Does it work, specifically the TV Links to the SDPVR?

I just finished setting up. Unfortunately it's too late to call the DStv centre to activate Xtraview. Will have to finish up tomorrow. I can't enable the tvlink on the SD PVR because the decoder isn't activated.

Edit: I connected the SD PVR directly to tv1 to access the menu and enabled the tv link. Tv2 is now saying "tv1 currently In stand by". The remote isn't working though.

For the setup In the above diagram, are these the correct settings for the HD PVR Xtraview menu?

It will not. Use installation 4B in the XtraView manual, if you want the TVlinks to work on the SD.
I suspected so too, but was hoping the Accept & Relay Commands settings on HDPVR would pass the remote signals from TV Link through the HDPVR to the SDPVR.

My current setup is identical to the top pic, but then I dont use (RF) TV Links. Just though if the relaying through the HDPVR worked, may be handy one day in the future.

what are your xtraview settings on the HD PVR?

I just used remote blasters ... be done with it :) (can control multiple devices with the blaster - hell I can turn my lounge air-con on from my bedroom ;))

I went SD-PVR RF out to HD-PVR RF in (heartbeat) then HD-PVR RF out to multiple TV's

Will a t-piece like this work? Just need to find a dc block.

Edit: found one.

100%... DC block is important, otherwise the heartbeat will work intermittently. We've been putting the DC block on the SD side, so the HD is powering up the SLx and TVlinks. The return path remote commands will go through the DC block to the SD.

With the dc block in the light on the slx is not switching on. When I remove the dc block then the light comes on.

Is the TV link enabled on the HD PVR. You have to enable the "accept relayed commands" in the XtraView set-up of the HD PVR, then activate the TVlink in the Equipment set-up.

"Accept relayed commands" was off because that's what the Xtraview manual said. I enabled it now and the SLX with DC block is fine. Should "relay remote commands" be on or off?

Everything's working now though. Thanks!
