So the first one is here, that I've found anyway.

http://www.cyberorange.co.za/product_info.php?products_id=1390 (R2750)

The price is still just under the average 8800GTS, but I would expect this to come down a bit, possibly just cheaper with other online shops. Can any of the guys with dealer price lists maybe confirm the price?

Now I'm either going with this or an 8800GTS, which one would you guys recommend? Any new benchies on the HD2900Pro would help :/

EDIT: http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3444&Itemid=1 This looks interesting too, but I wonder how long it would take to arrive in SA and if there would be a price difference, probably not worth waiting for 18 more stream processors.

HD2950Pro is the answer
55nm single slot cooled GPU that will clock to heaven and back ;)
Just wait until 19th November for it

haha sure, but the price should be around $300? Might come into SA as just too much, this card is useful for those who were just able to afford the 8800GTS before.

but I do have time to waste before making a decision, definitely going to wait for that and the new 8800GTS/GT pricing.

considering that the avg. price for a 8800GTS 320 is 3.2k and the 2900Pro is 2.7k it seems like a deal?

Price of 8800 gts 320 about 2850...so its close.I still don't know. The issues they have with AA tends to put me off a bit.Why not buy a 2900XT at R3500....but it is quite a headache decision.

I only know of one place that can get close to R2850, if they sold the HD2900Pro it would probably go for around R2500. The "normal" price is much closer to R3000, while the 2900Pro should definitely be less than R2800.

I see the pcint prices are very good. Too bad it's jhb with shipping costs/problems.

Yup thats them.I agree with you.The normal price is more towards 3000 as you said but you can get them better priced without stealing one ;) The 2900pro should be cheaper but things here by us seem to have staying power when it comes to inflated prices..

Oh and ekhaatvensters tweaktown have some benchies out on this card(2900pro) and i think pc...uhmmm can't remember now but from what i remember it performed a bit better than a stock 8800gts and under a 2900XT...but "apparently" beat the 2900XT in i think 1 game when OC'ed. Can't remember what screen res they tested at though.

Aah I posted the tweak town review a while ago :p And I've seen the polish one, but any new reviews would be welcome just to make sure.

The 8800GT 512mb vs this card will be interesting. Of course then the 2950Pro will be out, and that does look promising, been reading up, just hope the price is good too.

Ja the 2950 seems like a quieter and less power hungry version of the 2900XT...but that depends wether your getting the revival one or the other one(Gladiator or something weird).
The latter will be more pricey from what i've read.
The 8800GT is only really supposed to perform close to a gts for cheaper. But the 512mb mem will be welcome.I see there is also a 256 vers apparently.

Only problem I have with those GPU's is the fact that they're total power draw is somewhere near 80 - 100W more than the GF8 (don't quote me tho, but I can look it up again, just seems like effort), and the TDP is much higher as well..

My GF8800GTS has already turned my computer into a regular heater (no joke :( ), wouldn't want to see what the Amd GPU would do...

You can already pick up a HD2950 at Amazon [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Rousseau-HD2950-Heavy-Miter-Stand/dp/B0002YOQMM"]HD2950for $301-95[/ame] :D

Killa...agreed.I hate the fact that there isn't level performance across the board.
@Gnome..i read somewhere that at max load it can draw close to 300watts of power!! That just sounds a bit crazy to me.And yes maybe a extra heater for winter as it is a bit cold atm :D

@ Zeb..thats just plain evil man :D

my feelings are that you dont buy a vga card with issues

that AA issue is not lekka

Hmm ye and it doesnt make much sense either, with it's shader power and 512mb ram you'd think it would outdo a 8800GTS when you turn AA up.

That's why I'd like ot see more benchies coming out. Too bad ATI arent making a big thing out of these cards, apparently not even shipping cards for review.

I think its because there will only be limited amounts of these cards available. So they don't really car too much.
