no not realy, Lets say i have an image on it, and i run it through a virtual CD-R then the whole pc freezes, for anything from 20s to 5mins...

Im checking it out now, and i added a huge amount of music on it and played from that HDD, with no prob whatsoever....

come to think of it, yeah, before it did make a weird clicking noise, but now it doesn't not even when it stalls....

If its not your virtual software causing it - you can go to the manufacturers website and download a diagnostic utility made for your hdd. If all else fails try HDD regenerator (not free and will only fix first bad sector in trial version) or just boot from UBCD or the newer one and use the tools on there, or back up drive and zero fill it - helps sometimes if u lucky

That weird clicking noise is popularly referred to as "The click of death" it's the last death rattle of a hard-drive on it's way to HD heaven ;)

But optionally you can try another SATA cable, could be that, had similar problems (scratch the click noise tho) and it turned out to be defective SATA cables (yes cables in plural, Asus recalled them I later found out).

No the hard-drive overheating is very very unlikely, how hot is it exactly? Does it burn your hand?

doesnt burn my hand no... but its hot..

Then I doubt very highly it's a problem, fixed a guy's computer a while back that bought a case from PC Works (big mistake  ), anyway the computer was so hot when I took out the HD's they literally burned my hand and they were still working fine.
