Greetings.
I'm having a problem with my external hdd. When i put my pc on it ran chkdsk on the drive before i could log on to the pc.
Once i logged on and tried to view the contents of a partition on the drive i get an error message saying the drive is inaccessible, furthermore when i try to access the partition my pc lags like a ****!
I can however access the other partition of the drive without any problems (and due to murphys law, this is the empty partition and the one i am trying to access has all my important data on it)
I have the program Seagate File recovery for windows and i can access/view the files on my hard drive through this piece of software. However, when i go to disk management it shows the partition i am trying to access is 100% free, so basically it says it's empty. The only option i have in disk management is to format or delete the partition.
Is there anyway i can restore my hdd back to normal? I don't want to have to recover everything from my hdd using the seagate software because that's going to take ages (800GB worth of stuff)
Any help would be appreciated
