I'm having HDD issues, but its got me slightly confused. All the tests I'm running say the HDD is fine (Chkdsk, HDDTune, SeaTools, SMART data) and I can read off the disk fine, but it tanks under sustained writing.

I suspect that my HDD is gonna keel over soon, so I'm busy moving everything off it so that I can format it.

Event Viewer said:
Event ID: 51 "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation.

Event ID: 9 "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation."

Event ID: 11 "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1."

Event ID: 50 "{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file . The data has been lost."

Event ID: 34 "The driver disabled the write cache on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0."

When I copy data onto the disk, it stops copying, keeps the HDD lights on and logs some events. (Mainly 51 and 9).

Winamp refuses to load and FF reset all my addons. Spinrite gives the drives a Pass on certain tests (readability) but refuses to start the recovery mode.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm inclined to say the HDD is gonna die, but I also know that the IDE controller on the P5K board (JMicron) is a total fail-parade so I'm not so sure.

And lastly, does anyone know what the best destructive testing app out there is? Planning on using Seatools so far.

Thanks

I had that error before then I took the power spliters out of my pc and run it without the spliters I didn't have that prob again.so far.
I think it's a power prob.

What do you mean by power splitters? Like the molex power adapters?
