So I’m custom building a wall unit and fitting a 75” , so I’m wondering if any HDMI cable will work just fine (makro stocks) or do I need to use those bloody expensive ones that cost in the region of R600 ? I will be streaming 4K content.

My issue is once it’s in it’s in, I can’t decide later on I want to swap cables.

I don’t mind spending the money if it really does make a difference.

TIA ...

For 4K just ensure you have a HDMI 2.0 spec cable capable of 18Gbps. There is no difference in image quality between HDMI cables but a higher end cable may have better more durable connectors which may last longer but you're generally not removing HDMI cables a lot anyway once you've installed it so that's not super important.

If you are custom building the cabinet, custom build some access to replace cables.. Save yourself the regret and frustration later..

Thanks guys.

I’m fitting cables into every port even though I won’t necessarily use them. This will allow me to swap ports if need be. I just have a roku/fire tv and a dvr connected . Maybe I’ll connect a DVD player for the sake of it.

Unless your cable management is very good then rather buy the better quality cables. If your cables do need to cross then get them to intersect as perpendicular as you can.
