My amp does not have HDMI inputs, only digital, optical and the other standard coax inputs. Anybody knows where to find a HDMI to digital cable, if something like that exists?

Doesnt exist. You get a convertor box that inputs HDMI and spits out those you mention. About R1000. :D

An HDFury will spit your HDMI-video to normal analog signals and take care of the HDCP encryption. The same shop selling the HDFury will most likely have a unit to give you SPDIF/optical audio as well from the HDMI cable.

Question though, I have yet to come across a Blu-Ray or DVD player that does not have an separate SPDIF/Otical audio output...?

I found this on the HD Cabling site: 4x1 (4 input ports) HDMI Switch with Optical Toslink, Digital Coaxial and Stereo Analog audio output Revision 2 - HDMI v1.3, HDCP v1.2. A bit expensive. Assume it is what you are referring to.

In essence I want to take my PC audio to my amp. Currently I am running a line out from the PC to the amp, but I wish to experience up to 5.1.

Pls help on the following - when playing a downloaded HD music video, does the HDMI from the graphics card also carry audio for that video?
