I hope there isn't a thread like this already, I searched but couldn't find one. So, here goes: Let's say that you have an extra soundcard, Xi-Fi, Xonar, whatever and you also have a HDMI capable GPU such as Radeon the new radeons or similar. Now, if you wanted to connect through HDMI how would the cable routing go? I've not had a lot of experience dealing with HDMI and hope someone here can help me.

Do you have an AMP? If so what what inputs does it have?

Display Card > TV
Sound Card > Amp

Is one example.

But HDMI can carry both signals, and that's what I'm planning, using one HDMI cable to do both.

Best to check in the documentation that came with the graphics card. If it has audio support they must describe using it in the documentation. I think it's made of something called "paper" and it's got this black stuff on it that unfortunately one can't scroll through. :D

Unfortunately I do not posses these items as of yet and was mainly pondering the question for interest sake.
