Tonight I keep getting the little blue screen at the bottom that says "There is a problem with your harddisk. Please power cycle your PVR. I have rebooted it until I'm blue in the face. Is there a way to format the drive? Under advanced options I only see the options of deleting all recordings, which I did but it made no difference.

It is also connected to the SDPVR with the xtraview thingy of which I know nothing about.

Is my only resolution to take it to Multichoice? And do I take both the decoders and the smart cards?

I did that several times. The first 5 odd times the xtraview never came back and just gave an error that it's waiting for the primary decoder. The xtraview is running again now so I don't want to risk it not working at all until tmrw. I will try the 60 seconds thing again once everyone is asleep but I suspect nothing will come back after that. As I said I've done that several times and I still have the hard drive error.

try pulling the plug for about an hour and then plug it in, if it still doesnt resett itsellf back to normal, you need to take it back to MC

Mine did this after a year and a half. It used to be on the 1st start up for a few months, but got worse and worse. I eventually had to take it back to MC for a replacement (on maintenance agreement). One word of advice ... as you are on Xtraview take both decoders in so they can delink them before they swop it out, otherwise it is hell to do it after the fact.

Jhbgirl,

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Go and read these posts. I stay in Pta and took the trouble of going to MC in Randburg to go and change my decoder. Specially if you have a Xtraview setup like I have. I didn't want to take the risk of the guys in Pta screwing up the setup and then some of the functionality doesn't work afterwards. Just decide for yourself, but I assume you stay in Jhb and will be reasonably closer to MC than some of us.

The hubby called Multichoice this morning and they gave him some settings to reset it to factory default, which seems to work for the time being. CANNOT miss the big soccer match tonight. I suspect I will be visiting Multichoice in the next few days though. Think it's on it's last legs.

Thanks for all the help guys. I was so pissed off because I missed half of the Brazil match last night. Stupid PVR.
