HDR10 vs Dolby Vision (vs HDR10+)

There's very little difference, as much as the owners or wannabe DV owners try tell you that DV is simply holographic and out of this world .

If a TV expert does a review from 30cm away from the screen ; pauses a scene ; and explains to you which pixels look better or more detailed ... what makes you think that you can see a holygraphic image at 2m watching a movie?

BTW this poll is useless if you are going to buy a R5000 TV that peaks at 400 nits.

So you do agree, your eyes are not as good as your ears .
But if you do switch between HDR10+ to DV there are differences, tone mappings seem better, the actual pop is better on DV, HDR10+ is fine and acceptable, but DV just pops

At that, HDR isnt' really going to make much difference, might actually hamper the image and make highlights pop too much and darker scenes darker for no reason.

With the above being said, I won't get another TV without Dolby Vision .

The reason being that movie streaming often give a choice between HDR10 (static) & Dolby Vision (dynamic). So you're essentially comparing a static vs dynamic technolgy as opposed to two competiting dyanimc HDR formats
