Of course, if all you really wanted to do was see what HDTV content would look like on your super-duper 104cm plasma screen you could always download the HD movie trailers at http://www.apple.com/trailers/ and play them through your PC on your plasma screen.

You'd need a fast PC though, my old 2ghz Athlon struggles to keep up with anything higher that 420p.

or just go to www.mariposahd.tv and get full 1080p 40minute episodes of some good looking chicks

HDTV test transmission received in Johannesburg

I am using a Leadtek DTV 1000T DVBT card to capture an MPEG4 HD test transmission from Sentech.(started last week with 1 endlessly looped prog.)
The Leadtek software does not support the required H.264 Codec so I have to record the transport stream and replay it with Cyberlink DVD V7.3.
I have watched the results on a a media center PC equipped with an NVIDIA 6600GT card hooked DVI to HDMI on a 42 inch LCD and the results are excellent.
The free GBPVR software fares a little better allowing a live but jumpy picture to be resolved,however without audio.
I have also tried the Compro Videomate E800 card with the same results as the Leadtek.
