I have a 19" Philips B Series PC LCD Monitor which comes with an ISO-Class 2 Zero Defect Pixel warranty. I will admit I searched my butt off just to find a manufacturer that offers this...especially here in SA.

I hate..no wait...I HATE! dead/stuck/lit pixels. I can't even stand the sight of a single 1. I'm looking into buying a 32" LCD may be Sony, Sansui, Samsung, Philips or any other make. I'm not really worried as long as the thing does not have any pixel defects. Is there any company that offers this on HDTV or something similar.

Ideally GO to the SHOP, pick out the exact TV you want - have them hook it up and inspect it for defects. Dead pixels in LCD sets don't just appear after a while, they are made with defects - so if you don't find a defect the first time around - and you don't molest your screen - you're OK.

i think what you are referring to is ISO13406-2, which is the sorta standard defining these things.

a class 2 is allowed dead pixels, so perhaps your first sentence wasnt worded correctly.

Correct...I keep on getting confused with the 2. As Philips calls it.. ISO_13406-2 Class 1. But yeah, that's what I'm looking for.

Not always that simple. You can't always see the different shades of colour in the stores and what makes it even more difficult is the in store lighting conditions. Also my original Philips LCD only developed a dead pixel after 8 months of usage and my original PSP after 3 weeks.

How come laptops don't have dead pixels and LCD TV's do? Got to do with the size and number of pixels?
