Sounds kinky but would like to know if others agree that the in a nutshell books are far more useful as they are generally lighter and can be used as quick reference which head first books are too bulky for.

I generally don't like "quick reference" style books, that's what I have Google for. If I'm going to read a technical book, I want it to skip lightly over the basics (again I have Google) and go into more depth on the technical/more advancedl side of things.

I don't generalise by "brand", but I assume the nutshell books are called such for a reason :p
