Hi all,

I am not too clued up with this so just wanted to ask. I am wanting to replace my stock "yellowish" headlight and park light bulbs with more of a whiter/LED look.

As far as I understand HID needs a kit and sometimes do not fit. That's why I am wondering if there are normal 25w or 55w bulbs one can get to achieve this that can just be replaced without removing reflectors and such.

Is there such a thing and where would one go to get them or is HID the only way?

Thanks!

U dont need HID's. They are not suited to reflector type headlights and require some installation. Go look at Midas or similar and ask for a white bulb, lots of options for stock whiter bulbs out there. I installed Philips Diamond Vision bulbs. Way whiter and nice and bright

Hi there,

You can yes. They're called Nightbreakers and they're available at either Midas or Autozone; at least that's where I bought mine.

Nightbreakers are still pretty yellow, i tried them and threw them out for the Philips bulbs

I don't know the Phillips bulbs, but the night breakers is the best I had found so far. Much better than those blueish bulbs.
Will try them in the future.

Thanks guys, I shall head to Midas and have a look at the nightbreakers.

This wouldn't void a cars warranty in anyway would it?

The best halogen bulbs would have to be bought off ebay and it does become rather uneconomical especially if a bulb blows as no one is SA imports them.

Sylvania zXe's

As already stated.

Osram Nightbreakers retrofit to your current bulbs.

Also they don't look blue to be cool and actually genuinely offer better whiter light.

And no, this is a user replacement part so won't affect warranty.

I got my current bulbs from Autozone, for about R250+ (halogen, but can't remember the make). They are white and have seriously helped me with my night driving. Had yellowish ones before, terrible at night, and they never seemed to last very long.

My spotlights are still yellowish but I'm in no hurry to change those.

Those cool white lights are super crap. The more yellow the better, its cheaper too.

Depends what u want dude. Yellow looks ***, but then it depends on personal taste. The white bulbs offer less light yes, but they dont make that much of a difference in reality
