Heads up display for Waze / GMaps.

As the title indicates, looking for one locally or to import.
Does anyone have one that they can recommend? Must support GMaps or Waze, pair with my phone and be bright enough to use in direct sunlight.

There seem to be a few options out there that look interesting.

Then there is Garmin with a dedicated unit - but I don't like Garmin, and Sygic with their HUD option, but not very usable during the day.

Thought? Experiences?

Toyed with a after market HUD...pretty bleak. The image is fuzzy at best since it reflects off both the inner transition of the window and the external one. i.e. ghosting effect. Hope that makes sense.

If you like I can post you the HUD device I've got (HUD GPS speedo). (I actually got it from a mybb oke as a gift)

Waze...personally I think its fundamentally unsuitable for use as a driver. Its useful if you're a passenger advising the driver but beyond that I'd consider it a danger interface/interaction wise.

Personally I rock a Garmin with live traffic...though I do ignore it occasionally when I "know better". Plus I use it more as a "second opinion" than anything else.

Don't you think those two I linked in the OP would offer a better experience RE Ghosting? They are marketing them well, but Ya. Hopefully the tech is maturing.

I would love to try your one out. If anything just to see what I may be in fur. Get a taste kind of thing.
How much you want for it?

Edit: I have retired my Garmin. Preference is Waze first and GMaps second. Traffic is pretty darned accurate.
I like the cloud sync of my favourites, as well as storing trip history in the cloud.
Searching for addresses in the garmin also used to drive me nuts.

Take a good look at that 2nd vid...that grey field/screen thing...thats not projected. Its an actual sticker you stick onto the windsceen.

lol no - didn't pay anything for it (as I said mybb member gift). You make things convenient & anonymous for me and its yours. ;) Its a battery driven GPS that projects speed onto HUD but has cig power port too.

I'm in Edenvale area till 26th so we can maybe make a plan next week.

I saw a video a few weeks back, pretty sure it was the navdy (can't open the site at work). Looked really awesome and I think it had the com plug as well that plugs into your car's OBD to get realtime info from the onboard computer. Only downside was the price, was really expensive (remember something like $1000, might be off).

Sounds like the Navdy. The video makes it look like a winner.
The pre-order price $299 saying it is a %40 discount. Quite steep still but if it can do what they say - I will drop the cash.
