Headset for PC

Hey all,

I'm using a 5.1 surround sound setup on my pc. I want to use these for teamspeak http://www.takealot.com/sennheiser-x2-gaming-headset/PLID29397527

However after ordering, I only noticed it has a single 2.5mm plug. Would the mic and audio output work if I use a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter?

Are you going to be one of those people that have the audio feeding back into the mic.. Annoying.

That never happens with a decent headset with noise cancellation. However your feedback is greatly valued! Much appreciated.

I never did get to use this because it had a single mini connector, and the cord was only 1.1 meters long. Probably good for a handheld device, certainly not for Skype calls on a desktop machine. The connector has only 1 pin, and most PC's have seperate mic and speaker plugs - it's also a much smaller connector, not a standard size that most laptops and smartphones have today.

This seems to be an Xbox360 headset?

Well actually if your sounds system is loud it will bleed quite badly into a the mic.
Adapter will work fine though.

Just realize those are not comfortable for long time use.
My son has a similar set for xbox and is wanting a over the ear headset now.

Yeah, i've had that before; but only if i set my volume 70% I currently have a plantronics headset. Pretty much the same but want something newer/better.

I use a set of Beyerdynamics DT990 with an el-cheapo chinese over ear mic that I hacked apart and turned it into a velcro mod mic.

Works like a dream.
I also have a R30 desk mic from Crazy store that works as well.
