Hi there....
I just got out of a spinal fusion surgery about 2 weeks ago TLIF 1 L4- L5 / L5-S1. I have a couple of questions as I’m in recovery phase. I’m a keen cricketer indoor and outdoor and I’ve been chosen to represent my province in September. I would like to know by any Doctors,Physios, Chiropractor or even someone that went for the same operation as I have. 1. Will I be fit and ready to go come September. 2. I’m reasonably fit and does that play a role? 3. How long does it take for the bones to fuse into it’s natural place as I don’t want to rush things? 4. What can I supliments can I use to help my back bones develop a bit faster? Thanks in advance

Surely this should be something you ask your doctor/surgeon, not randoms on the internet.

I was told that after having this operation I would not be able to pick up more than 5kg. Forget about violent movements like swinging a cricket bat.
How old are you and why did you get this operation if I may ask?

Best person to speak to is the surgeon who performed the operation

Eish, fusion.

6 month recovery at least.

Why not disc replacement?
