Hi all.

John Robbie had a caller last week, he gave the name of an android app to test hearing. Does anyone have the name of that app, or any decent app for the same person. There's an aquaintance of mine that always hears wrong things, I need to prove to her that she's losing it (her hearing).

Thanks in advance

You heard the caller talking to John Robbie didn't you? I think your aquaintance has a point... :D
I heard the caller but didn't listen to the name of the app, phone rang and had to take a call, wasn't driving though.

I doubt a phone can produce such frequencies of that a normal hearing test.

So its quite pointless.

The test has to be conducted with earphones.

But the phones sound chip cant produce such high frequencies.

Surely a hearing test cant cost that much.

I'm not sure in which frequency range the test occurs & whether aliasing & sampling issues are introduced...be interesting to get more info on the app.

Many phones quite easily produce 20-20kHz via the headphone jack. This app doesn't seem to need that range though, I think it has more to do with being able to distinguish specific sounds against a noisy background. This is probably good enough to determine whether you need to go for real tests, which are roughly R600

I got 73 with some background noise present. Wonder if another pair of headphones would make any difference.
