Hearthstone: Discussion, Tips, Tactics and Player List

Also currently playing Dragon Priest, on rank 9.

With the current Pirate Warrior meta it's a bit hit and miss. If you can draw your taunts to save the onslaught to your face (Wyrmrest Agent, Twilight Guardian), it's GGWP. Because once you start unleashing your midrange minions and AoE spells, they don't stand a chance.

Nice list, definitely going to add Holy Nova to mine now. And wanna try out Priest of the Feast too.

1 x Northshire Cleric
2 x Power Word: Shield
2 x Twilight Whelp
2 x Nethersprite Historian
2 x Shadow Word: Pain
2 x Wyrmrest Agent
1 x Brann Bronzebeard
2 x Kabal Talonpriest
2 x Shadow Word: Death
1 x Priest of the Feast
2 x Twilight Guardian
2 x Azure Drake
2 x Blackwing Corruptor
2 x Drakinoid Operative
2 x Holy Nova
1 x Dragonfire Potion
1 x Entomb

29 cards?

guessing Ysera is the missing one...

Sorry 1 x Book Wyrm

Ysera isn't really needed. You can draw her relatively frequently from Nethersprite Historian.

Another thing - don't play your Twilight Whelps unless you have two in hand. Rather keep at least one to activate your "If you have a dragon..." cards

Sorry, #2774

Sent you a friend request too.

Anyone feel free to add me - M3ND4C17Y#2293

Not a particularly great player. Rank 14 atm and playing friendly games now due to being matched 80+% of the time with pirate warriors. F**k that.

Playing a similar list except dropping entomb and dragonfire potion for blackwing technician to deal with the aggro onslaught. Jade druids you just take board then go face. Can't wait. Or they kill you with the jade's

I really enjoy Jade Druid, but yeah, you usually die if your opponent curves better than you. And that's obviously quite often if you're playing an aggro deck. JD is totally reliant on good opening cards - you need not just the Jades but also the crystals.

Yep you need to mull for ramp but not all your ramp. Other wise you sit with 10 mana and no cards. Or lots of floating mana

Traditional Tempo mage surprisingly is very strong in this meta. Got me to rank 6 quite easily when I teched in double mirror images. If you get mirror images and mana wyrm against pirate warrior its instalose for them

With Druid it's a bit trickier. You still have to get your taunts up, while keeping the board clear and going for face. You need to make make the best use of your midrange cards before he can get to turn 10, and start spamming Gadgetzan Auctioneer + cheap spells.

Lot's of people complaining about the current meta. Druid is ok if they nerf the Jade Idol. But Pirate Warrior is ridiculous. It's boring to play with and against.

My current deck is:
1 x Northshire Cleric
2 x Power Word: Shield
2 x Twilight Whelp
2 x Nethersprite Historian
2 x Shadow Word: Pain
2 x Wyrmrest Agent
1 x Brann Bronzebeard
2 x Kabal Talonpriest

1 x Priest of the Feast
2 x Twilight Guardian
2 x Azure Drake
2 x Blackwing Corruptor
2 x Drakinoid Operative
2 x Holy Nova
1 x Dragonfire Potion
1 x Entomb

Hit me up if you'd like to crack a few games. SlayerGP

I have a Curator and Alexestra instead of the Holy Novas, the steal Potion instead of one of Shadow Word Death and an extra Cleric at the expense of the Shadow Pain

Problem with Defender of Argus, especially against aggro, is you can only play it turn 4. You might be better off sacrificing the +1/+1 buff and going with Sunfury Protector. You get the same 2/3 body so even if you have nothing to taunt, you can play the body for cheaper in a crunch...
Fair enough. I just copied zetalots list. I find the small taunts, wymrest, guardian etc help a lot with aggro. And taunting up your operatives or corrupters helps against control

I quite like this. Insightful explanation too. Thanks.

Last night I was on rank 8. Kept on losing. So i switched to aggro shaman. It's ridiculous how strong that archetype is. Blitzed right through to rank 5 for my reward. I need to get aya cos I'm assuming the jade variant will be even better

I finished the month with the level 12 rewards, mostly playing Dragon Priest.

Been stuck on level 18-19 the last 2 days, playing Dragon Priest and Jade Shaman. I know there is a theory that it is harder to level the first few days as there are more good players levelling from the low rank, but man, it is not great for my confidence. Then I start questioning the deck choices.

Also, losing so much, makes it frustrating to keep grinding, so I end up playing less games each day than when I'm at higher levels.

Don't worry - is right, the first week is really tough getting out of Rank 17

Really tough

I finished last month on Rank 10 (with Rank 6 chest reward) and now just floating on rank 18 for the last two days.

Edit: :crylaugh: and now I'm down to Rank 20

Cool that HS is getting some love in here. Maybe this section should be renamed "Blizzard games", and PoE be moved somewhere else. :p

Managed to win a few games in a row and climbed to 17 now.

Been wondering about whether playing on the iPad puts me at a disadvantage and how much that disadvantage is. Obviously I don't have access to any of the tools that PC users have. However, I play more often than I would play if I were forced to only play in front of the pc.

What are your thoughts?

What tools? Deck trackers etc?

I've been playing almost exclusively on tablet. And I finish rank 5 or above most seasons. One day when I have time I'm going to try to grind to legend
