Way off topic and didn't quite know where to put this.

But, has anyone had dealings with a company called Vinyl Cutters Industrial machine brokers with regards to heat presses? Looking at a 38cm x 38cm t-shirt press (not the combo, just t-shirt). I was also looking at JG Electronics but prices a bit higher.

Nope, won't look at second hand presses .

How much is the press? And why not ask them for a reference or two?

what the company calls heavy duty is going for R3500 with vat, JG electrics for a heavier pressure is under R5000 with vat.

have sent Vinyl Cutters an email but no response. I'm taking into account the festive season and checked Google maps for their store. They do exist, but am hoping someone has used their heat press so I can get an idea of the quality. Googled my butt off looking for reviews (as I do with anything I want to buy) but haven't found further info.

I don't want to go cheap just to save bucks but don't want to be ripped off either.

I've got two heat presses here, both bought from Vinyl Cutters.

The first one we bought lasted for about a year, can't recall what went wrong, but talked to Vinyl Cutters and they sent out a replacement part which fixed the problem. We naturally had to pay for the part and courier costs.

The second one, which is the bigger 60x40cm version has been running like a dream for the past two years, keeping in mind we've now had the first smaller one for 3 years.

We use these presses on a daily basis, probably between 2-3 hours a day on and off.

If you strapped for cash, you can always look on gumtree or junkmail for secondhand units.

Thanks! They say the presses have dual elements with no cold spots. Have you had any issues with cold spots?

Weary of secondhand units. As someone mentioned to me secondhand units might be the cheap ones that give cold spot issues and the person wants to get rid of it.

also, just out of curiosity after reading about buying heat presses internationally, some say that a dedicated circuit for a heat press is preferred. since our electricity is 220v compared to america's 110v, do we need a dedicated circuit or is it a plug and play in any wall socket .
