Heat problems

my CPU cores are running 68 - 72 degrees C.
Thanks

If those are idle temps thats warm-hot.
Check the cpu fan settings in the mobo, if its running properly.
Depending on your mobo you should be able to set fan speed to auto, so it will spin up as the temps go up to provide a bit more cooling.

That is while playing GW2 or transcoding video, at idle cpu temps are 38 - 42 degrees C. Will check BIOS see if I can change anything there.

What processor is it?
68-72 under load with std aircooling is not a train smash at all and probably well under the tj max temp of the processor.

My experience with stock AMD cards is that they generally like to run hot under the collar, more so than nvidia.
My 6990 under load used to hit 90, 45-50 idle.

My 6770 used to run between 40C - 45C which i found not issue with. I however did discover that by removing my second monitor the idle temp on my graphics card went down from 51C to 41C.

An Intel i7 870 - not overclocked ...

reversed the fan above the CPU, and got a 10 - 15 degree drop in temp.
