I have just finished the prologue and now I am in some grotty apartment with a morbid kid whom I have to make sure does his homework, eats his supper and presumably wipes his arse after going to the toilet. Apart from convincing me that children are stupid, I am finding it all very boring and tedious.

Does this game get better?

No shooting stuff or explosions or high speeds or conquering the world? Is it even a game? Sounds like a life simulator of someone's boring life... ain't nobody got time for that.

Anyway.. sorry, don't know anything about it, can't help :p

That's like the first 5min of the game. Just carry on you'll be chopping off fingers soon.

But if you just wanna blow stuff up, this isn't the game for you.

It's a game from the guys that made Indigo prophecy/Fahrenheit. So all about the story and emotions.

I never finished it but wish I did. It is emotionally intense and morbid. The start is slow but when "it" happens things get better. Keep on playing - it really is different to other games.

The story gets better - it's quite a decent movie. Very artsy and all about that "emotional engagement" BS the kids love these days. It's one of those "experience" type things if you know what I mean.

As a game though it's almost non-existent. The only "game" with less actual interactivity than this is Dear Esther. Just think of it as a very long movie and you should get some enjoyment out of it.

And for the love of Zeus, never play Dear Esther. Ever.

Heavy rain is magnificent and so was Fahrenheit, just a pity that Beyond Two Souls didn't reach the same heights. Let's pray the next game improves upon their legacy

Dear Esther sucked balls indeed even though I like emotional games rofl

I love Heavy Rain!

It also reminded me of those “choose your own adventure” books, since many of your actions affected the outcome of the story, i.e. multiple endings.

The beginning is slow, but it starts picking up from there. You also start playing as other characters later on in the game.

Have to agree, Beyond Two Souls was a letdown.

Have you tried Gone Home?

I actually finished Beyond: Two Souls in 2 sittings. I enjoyed that much.

Heavy rain is one of those "must-have" games IMO

Even Yahtzee liked it:

I stopped playing when the kid dies...

Then I tried playing again and got stuck on the couch with the other kid... this worried me slightly.
