Anyone else here who uses hellanzb and finds that it seems not to connect to saix?

I use "NZB" and it won't connect either.... even after trying for 12 hours straight... won't connect to IS either.

i've had to use grabit under wine. i why hella won't connect

ya, have had plenty of problems with hellanzb on Ubuntu.

I think the problem is that the connection timeout (ie: the time between attempts to connect to the saix news server) is set too far apart. AFAIK, this setting is hard coded in the program and it can't be adjusted through the config. I had the same problem with SABnzbd; they hard coded a minimum connection timeout of 120 seconds. In the previous version before there was a preset minimum, I would could connect with no problems with a timeout of 6 seconds.

how does grabit run under wine?

I'm currently using Alt Binz under wine but it runs pretty damn laggy for me and consumes quite a bit of memory.

I should try that maybe (Yip, haven't though of it yet )
Will try it and see.

I can't seem to connect from WINE using Grabit... it just says "connecting".

I tried changing the server to news.is.co.za and got the result I wanted: connection refused (since news.is.co.za is a local site, it should go through local, but my local account is saix)

I managed to get some bits flowing in Grabit but a lot of the jobs times out. Will retry them and see if they work.

Currently getting 37KBps on a 39KBps line and Grabit is using 13.6MB RAM. Not too shabby...
