I've been on iBurst for a month now after Sentech cancelled my classic contract. I like iburst. Unlike Sentech, they at least seem to (mostly) deliver what they advertise. 'Mostly' because I _never_ see 64kb/s when capped. It generally hovers around 20 to 30.

I only wish that I had control over when to use the 1 Gig uncapped instead of using it all first. I left my computer running on the last day of September (pulling down a torrent), and when I woke up at 7am on 1 October my 1 Gig was gone. And whether that was 3Gig or 6 wouldn't have made that much difference to me anyway. I don't imagine it is possiple to get a 30G account from some third party ISP on iBurst like you can with ADSL. Anyone?

It's a pity the general South-African consumer is such a dupe. They fall for the 'What you can do with 1G' advertising. I.e. so many zillion emails, so many web pages etc, but I'm sure that if they knew that 1G amounted to an entire two and a half hours of broadband internet in a month, they wouldn't pay the prices our ISP's charge.

No, iBurst are thier own only ISP. So you cant buy any bandwidth elsewhere.

Well, um, 1 gig doesn't mean 2 and a half hours of broadband for most South Africans at all, thats downloading.. im not sure if you can really say broadband is just downloading. but their "what you can do with a gig" thing is stupid..

Strange that you don't get 64kb after the cap.. most users easily get their 64kb but rather don't get their 1mb. 20-30kb is terrible... i usually get over 64 when it bursts once capped, and http downloads can go at 7-10kb.

Well I hit my G6 limit the other day, but I can stream Virgin radio, have a torrent roaring at 2 kB/s and surf, so not so bad
