Help: 400d Battery

Hello Gents

I know a few of you have or had Canon 400d cameras. I have a opportunity to buy a 400d body off my cuz who is getting rid of it coz she has a 3 other bodies and doesn't want this one any more... only problem is that the battery needs to be replaced...

I have checked Orms and Outdoorphoto and found the NB-2LH for over R700.

Am I looking at the correct battery for this body and if so, why the hell is it so expensive?

If you can wait, $6-10 incl shipping on ebay....from a gazillion suppliers

R700 is way overpriced. Rather buy a generic, I have had no issues (I have a 450d)

They're about £55 new here, so no, R700 isn't overpriced for a genuine Canon NB-2LH battery. 3rd party batteries should be much cheaper though.

Third party batteries may be cheaper but I haven't had much luck with them. I got two batteries and both gave in after about 7 months. I swapped both of them out at the camera shop and one of them have died again :/
