I am wanting to go out and get WoW and get involved! Is there one common box version for both PC and Mac or do I need to get a Mac version?

its the same box as the pc version, but you will need to download all the mac updates.
i run it on my macbook pro, and once you install it you will need to download the wotlk patch which is about 1.6gb +- disvantages, on your macbook you going to run it on lower settings than pc i would imagine, and the mac is gonna get extremely hot i suggest using smcfan control and pump it to the fullest. otherwise it its perfect.

drew if you dont mind not seeing outland which you wont for quiet sometime or you dont want to play a Blood elf or a draeni then you just need the first part of the game, which costs like 99R if you want to play a BElf then you need the burning crusade, realistically you wont get to 80 in a month if its your first time playing as you will enjoy content at a slower pace so you could get that in a few months even.
