Seems my MB is faulty so will replace, but have a i3 processor socket 1155 and new boards do not mostly 1150. So my question anyone with recommendations or a board to sell. I currently have a mid-high end board, separate video, 4 HDD 32gb ram run win 8pro, for graphics apps. Need 6-8 usb connections, will post model number and more detail when i open up later.

If you want a straight replacement to carry on with your current hardware, hit up the folks at Carbonite forums and see if someone's selling a LGA1155 board there. Takealot still lists the MSI Z77A-G41 as in stock.

If you had to go new, a Core i3-4130 would set you back about R1400 and then a H87/H97 board would be another R1200 or so. ASRock's Z97 Pro 4 is a good place to start if you'd like to keep your options open for an upgrade to Intel's Broadwell chips next year.

Yes looked at H97 boards but as you said would need processor. Will not buy via online options as have access to dealers as i run small it business, not specializing in hardware, have stuck to my area of expertise, software and training. Only sell made up machines. Just loathe to replace working cpu so even though glad to upgrade board want to sell current i3 and not just loose it

Looked at that takealot spec will compare to my current as i have a MSI. Will see if any of my Cape Town suppliers have it. Thanks for the great advice

Thanks
My current board is MSI PH67s-C43, with a MSI N240GT graphics card
