Help and advise needed for noobie

I have been contemplating buy WoW for the last 4-5 years but never got around to doing it.
Now recently the bug bit me again and I am seriously looking at buying it now.

So I took the first steps last night and downloaded the trial version from Blizzards website, so this is where I need some of you smart outjies to help me out.....

The trial version keeps freezing in the character creation menu, and if not, every time I enter the game.
It just hangs, nothing happens.
I don't suspect anything with my PC, as all my other shyte works fine, just this WoW trial that gives problems.
I did try and fiddle around with the options and settings in-game..... all to no avail.
I did notice they said that there were some kind of maintenace happening yesterday, could this be the problem or has the trial version maybe got a flu or something.

Your feedback and help would be much appreciated.
P.S: When I get the game, is there anybody in PTA that might help me out with the patches, I've read that they can be quite huge.

Weird I never had any issues but I think you should update to latest, regarding patches you can get them off wage for free if you purchase a prepaid WA ADSL account, this is what I did a few months back. only cost me R70 bucks and a few nights downloading.

Also if you join a realm... I'm in bronze dragonflight (EU server), I can invite you to the guild I'm in if you join this realm and I'll show you around.

There has been some serious congestion on the internet connection.
I could not manage to get into WoW at all on the shaped connection.
It's a lot better today, though .... but .... this may not last.

P.S. What realm are you going to play in? And - EU or USA?

Well if you choose a trial, you can get the one from wow Europe or Wow USA, get the EU version, better pings .. oh and i'm there too lol.

I went onto the Blizzard site and downloaded the trial from there, I have no idea if it's the US or EU one, I'll try and check it out when I get home tonight.
