To all the propellerheads (a compliment 
) I need your help:
I lost my Billion ADSL router/modem the other night due to the storm (I think). My PC was connected via cable to the router/modem. After replacing the router, I now see that the Gigabit LAN controller no longer shows under my XP Hardware Manager and neither of the LED on the read LAN point show any activity.
The motherboard is a Asus P5K running BIOS vers 0704.
My questions are as follows:
- Any advice as to what to do to troubleshoot this?
- Can only the LAN controller have been taken out?
- If the LAN controller has died can I simply use a PCI or PCIe LAN card as the rest of my system seems fine.
