Hi there...

Like the title states, we had a lightning strike and our D-Link DSL-2750U in no more. It still works but no internet light/led on the front, now I need to replace it and looking for something in the +/-R700 price bracket.

What would MyBB ppl suggest for a replacement?

Try telkom shop see what modems they have...should be in that price range...

Hello

I cannot reccomend the Billion B-8800NXL router enough. It uses a broadcom chipset which are exceptional for stability (I chose it for this reason), has VDSL capabilility, 3g fallback (You'd need to buy the 3g modem though), quick wireless the lot\. So basically stability for telkom, vdsl for future proof.

Price: R869 from takealot.

Edit: Your old D-Link DSL-2750U used a broadcom chipset too so you can be 100% sure that you wont experience any line issues. I went from a Netgear DGN2200 (Broadcom) to this without issues however if I use the PACE from Telkom it wont even keep my line stable as I sit just within stability margin after a telkom mess up which they deny.
