I'm really at a roadblock here guys. Everything initially was working fine until I had a power outage. The system was running w7 installed on 1tb Seagate on the sata 3 port and the ssd ocz was serving as a caching drive on the other sata 3g port under the Intel rapid storage driver taking care of the achi and raid.

The intel smart response was setup using gigabyte ez setup utility which handled the raid setup after the os was installed. All went wrong when a power outage occurred and lost my raid. I had to do a fresh install and I after i loaded the motherboard drivers it would immediately go into a bsod when windows logo appear.

Setup:
Gigabyte z77 ud3h with latest BIOS version f8
Core i5 2500k
Corsair vengeance 16gig 1600
Ssd ocz agility 3 60gig sata3
HD Seagate 1tb 32mb cache sata3
Psu gigabyte Odin gt 550watt
Inno3d gtx 560 to 1gig
Os w7 sp1 64bit

Am I dealing with a faulty MB or am I missing something.

What is BIOS setting for storage?

If its ACHI, change it to other setting and reboot.

Its currently set to achi. I made some headway though, I installed again on spare drive on the sata2 port without any issues.

I think the achi & RAID controller is still seeing the main drive as part of a raid, hence the problems im having. I will do some more testing later tonight.

Fixed!:D. Had to set the sata mode to raid - reboot -enter raid config and remove both the main drive and the ssd from the accelerated raid volume. enter bios and set sata mode back to ahci. Viola no more Bsods, lesson learnt unfortunately the hard way.
