Hi. I've actually made a mistake regarding phones. I decided that I'm going to wait for a nice phone and just as I'm going to commit to one news surface about a newer model coming in a few months and I decide to wait again. (D500 -> D600 -> D900)

So this has been going on for the last 3 years. What I've been doing till now was to buy the cheapest phone that seems OK. Keep it for about six months and then replace it again with another cheap phone.

And let me tell you. These cheap phones are cheap for a reason. They don't last. Usually the Battery or the speaker that croaks.

I'm on the phone permanently during office hours. Phone I've got now is Nokia 1600 about 3 months old and already made a total of 60H 53M 32S of calls. And this phone is getting to me. No Bluetooth. Handsfree sucks. Funky battery life (Full one moment, flat the next.)

The question is what to get that will actually last me 2 years. The Nokia 9300i simply did not make it past the first year of the contract.

The phones with all the frills usually have a much shorter battery life.
Maybe try the Nokia 6230i? A couple of frills in there but still excellent standby/talktime.

Thats discontinued and replaced with the 6234, 3G but no camera in front.

I suggest you change from Samsung, in my opinion Samsung's target market is females and its suits them.

Get a SE K800, You wont be disapointed or if you into that whole slidy phone thing try the new W850!;)

How good is SE? Last time I checked them out I was not impressed with what I saw.

K800 you say? What about the W810i? Any good?

Yip its better than a W810 coz it has 3G and a 3.2MP cam, but the W810 is still a decent walkman phone, although it wont be around for long as the W850 is out.

What I like about the W810 is that apparently it comes with 512MB of flash RAM. Even though I could not find that spec on the Web.

All I'm asking for is good battery life and to access Gmail from the phone. Never needed the camera on my previous phones. I think is pretty much the Walkman function that's drawing me to the W810. But you say I should rather then wait for the W850 to become available?

Ermm the K800i isn't a phone with a full lit of features. It has a great camera admittedly, but that's about it. The N80's camera is almost as good but it's streets ahead of the K800i when it comes to features. The N80 has almost every feature you can think of, as well as a better video recorder. It also uses cheap miniSD cards which go up to 1GB.

Ye that would be the phone to get IMO.;)

@ Flyer
The N80 is symbian and has wifi... It also has pathetic battery life and is slower than a Tazz with an elephant inside.
So yes on paper its better I agree!;)

Not really, a firmware upgrade sorted the speed of the OS out. Battery life is poor yes (lasts about a day with full use, 3-4 days with average use) but then again there's no such thing as a perfect phone.

Yeah get a SE - when your joystick starts jamming then you'll find out how k@k SE is.

Ye thats a common problem, although my K700, K750 and so far my K800 never had a hint of a joystick problem.
BTW the W810 and W850 has no joystick!;)

Well. Currently I saving up for the W850. As soon as it's released I'll go to a MTN shop and have a look at it.
