Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a geforce 9600gt and am still looking for a power supply to run this on my current pc.

My current psu is a 450watt but has an amperage of only 21 amps on the 12v rail.

I am running an asus p5k epu board with a core 2 duo 1.8 e4300 with 2 hard drives and a dvd rom.

What will a good choice for a psu be ? I am currently looking at this one -

PC zone have it advertised for R450. :) However I have checked a review on xbitlabs and although they say it is a good entry level, it is actually 550w on peak and NOT continuous power.

Thanks in advance chaps.

IMo you won't need higher than a 550W for a while ......... I have a Gigabyte 550 and am very happy with it :D

Thanks for the speedy reply. Is it a true 550 i.e. continuous or one of those rated at peak ? What are you running off it?

Oops. Sorry about that babble. What I meant to ask is is your psu the same as the one in the link ? I know gigabyte also make some fancy high end psu's like the odin.

standard Gigabyte ............ ;) (no sleeved cabling is the only difference from the one in the link)
