Peace to all

Need help deciding between a few TVs. Can you all please take the time to have a look, rank and suggest alternatives?

1. HISENSE - 55 UHD SMART LED TV R7600
2. LG - 49" FHD LED TV R7000
3. HISENSE - 49" FHD LED TV R5000

Didn't want to go over 7500. Wanted at least 49", and HD. Don't care about smart tv wifi and if it can fry eggs.

Thanks for your time!

Also post the model numbers.
If you have the means to watch 4k then the UHD Hisense, If not then the LG

Just be careful about going too big or too small. Go to a place like Marko and see how each size looks at your expected viewing distance. The bigger the room the bigger the screen you can get. The last thing you want is to pay for a huge screen only to find it looks carp because you are sitting too close to it. You could end up watching a movie tennis match style.

Makro don't have the 55, but does have the LG 49. That looked perfect but that means am coming down an inch fron my previous one...

No such thing man lol...
I have a 60" thats at a distance of 2,8m. Would like to go bigger when this one bites the dust.

Buy locally manufactured Hisense, with a 4-year warranty, then you are doing two things helping yourself and supporting local jobs.

Forget the Smart TV and the curved screen gimmicks. Maybe consider a Tv with a built-in sound bar? Make sure the TV has a digital DVB T2 tuner built-in.

Guys thanks for all the advice. Took the Hisense 55 and am over the moon, exactly what I wanted! Saving up for a sound bar soon. Chap who came to fit it did a perfect job too.

There is absolutely such a thing.

But for 60-inch the optimal viewing distance is 2.6~ so you are just right.

A 65-inch would still work at the distance. A 75-inch would be too much and you'll lose detail to resolution limitations.

But all depends if you are on UHD or FHD.

UHD allows you to sit closer.

Samsung is also locally manufactured, but for the warranty I agree HiSense.

I wouldn't opt for a built-in sound bar option as it limits you in many ways.

And hard to find a non-Smart option lately. Curved is fortunately buggering off.

Thanks was not aware of SS being locally manufactured. Where is their assembly plant?

Port Elizabeth I beleive.

There is some debate about what is manufactured and what is assembled, but either way you are supporting local.

The latter doesn't seem very cost effective because then why bother don't it down here in the first place, with the most expensive shipping options.

Hi Guys my kid put chewing gum on the screen and I don't know how to remove it. Please help urgently?

Pull as much as you can off before trying to clan the rest. If the screen is glass, then the simplest way to remove the rest is with meths or surgical alcohol. Apply a little bit to the are, and then rub off with a clean cloth or piece of roller paper towel. do not spread the chewing gum.

Get as much off, by hand, as possible. 50/50 water/vinegar works well to cleans screens, especially fly carp. Mix a teaspoon of each. Then dab a piece of cotton wool in it (damp not wet) and rub in circles. Wipe excess off with clean cotton wool. Don't use paper towel, it can scratch the screen.
