(getting irregular packet loss this morning from both Rosebank and Northcliff)

I get told by er Tyrone I think the name was -
"What OS are you running?" (I say XP)
he says
"Get a program called Ad Aware - there's a lot of problems with spyware.."

I point out that DUH I know the difference between crap network signal/bandwidth and spyware activity on my pc.
Soon as I mention I'm running a ping to iburst and can see the packet loss,
(and thus know a little bit of what I'm talking about) he changes to:

'Well the Japanese are out here looking at the problem"
I point out that this excuse was floated at me two or three weeks ago..

he says 'all the technicians are in a meeting at the moment'
I point out the heavy packet loss Im seeing.
he says
'I'll have to tell my supervisor - although he's not here right now,
I'll tell him when I see him."

Hmmm.

maybe its time to start a thread to collect up 'Help Desk Excuses'

add yours..

Well, this is that thread then :).

I think this is why I keep a list of contact cell no and email addresses , so that I dont have to talk to the helpdesk very much

This thread subject just seems ALL to familiar...

Am a bit concerned as it seems the same is happening all over again as with Sentech!!

I mean all the warning signs are all over the place.

:)

Okay, in my experience, japanese people tend to haul @ss when it comes to work. Thats why most of the products you buy are "made in japan" or what not.

I think they're bullsh`tting us like Sentech did, because if they werent, the japs would have fixed things by now

Oh wow! What an original line of thought!

Even the deja vu is getting deja vu.
