I am frequently getting this message when I try to connect to the internet via my ADSL modem. I have to click the on/off switch about a dozen times before I can finally connect. The exact sequence is: Firstly, the LAN connects ..then the DSL and WAN lights start flickering..then the LAN light goes out and msg. appears networ cable uplugged. How can I fix this. PS. My PC also does not open Windows explorer when I login..I have to start it with Task Manager..

I have exactly the same thing happening. However I always disconnect my wall socket when I am not on the Internet. I find if I first boot up the Pc and then connect to the internet I need to do this only once or twice. Myabe it's because I have a fairly old modem (4 years)

Is there any solution? I called TELKOm who dispatched guys and they did a line test (I think) and everything was ok.

The "network cable uplugged" message refers to the LAN connection from your PC to the modem. Could be a faulty cable or LAN card..

I've tested the lan cable and that wored fine. How do I test the LAN card?
(please excuse my ignorance - I'm not very clued up on this stuff)
