Model: Galaxy Tab A6 (2016) 7-inch

My kid somehow got the tablet stuck in Kids mode, changed the pin and now we cannot get it out of this mode. I can power it off from this mode and not much more.

When I hold the home button + volume up + power on it goes straight into kids mode but now displays a little message in the left corner to indicate SAFE MODE. But I still can't do anything.

When I hold the home button + volume down + power on it goes to a mode called ODIN MODE. It displays a message "Downloading..." but regardless of what sim card is in, it does not download anything. There is no progress even after several hours of downloading nothing.

Please help me to wipe/reset this thing to factory settings.

Hello, have a shot at Volup+Home+Power as before, The moment the device turns on, release the buttons? Or, if the device turns on, release all the buttons, and hold them in again. Usually does the trick. Once you are in another screen, usually something in the line of "recovery", with a Android bot lying on the ground, front door open, you are in the right place. Now, the volume buttons will scroll the selection up/down, power is the "enter" key. There should be a option in the line of "Factory Reset". Sorry, im speaking from what I can remember. Had a samsung device a few years ago.

No joy :crying:

I cannot believe that Samsung left absolutely no backdoor. It makes a beautiful paperweight though.
Unless you don't to get your hands dirty with ODIN flashing, take the device to a cellphone repair shop, ask them to wipe the device for you. Only options I can think of.
