The Enigma...

Possible suspect: Gigabyte Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb PCI-E

Problems are sporadic while playing games and in 3dmark06 hdr1&hdr2 tests.
Monitor lost signal issue recently appeared, but resolved after reinstalling drivers.
A restart, alt-tab, quit & run again and tinkering with catalyst 3d settings occasionally resolves the issue.
Updated all drivers, tried other and older drivers. Tested with XP SP2, SP3 and Vista.
Ensured hardware properly connected, seated, ventilated and cleaned system with compressed air.

Googling for most probable cause points to vram overheating.
***Unable to monitor the temperature of the graphics card - no temperature sensor.
The fan on the card is working properly. Adding extra fans or opening the case with desk fan blowing into case makes no difference.
Not extremely hot to the touch.

No Bsod's.

If it is indeed the graphics card...what are my options?
RMA?
It was bought in Singapore from Bizgram in SimLim square.
On the box there's a sticker from CDL Trading PTY LTD that reads: 3 year warranty, 1 to 1 exchange for 1st year -which is over on the 24/04/08(the 1st year that is).
I still have the receipt.
Problem is that SimLim is a bit far away from from Cape Town.
Would I be able to exchange it locally? How? Where?
Upgrade?
Always an option, but what do I do with the old card?
Unable to sell it, which makes the funding for the upgrade an issue. Considering the next progression would be a 9600gt or preferably a 8800gt.
Unless it's possible that problems will be resolved if running at lower resolutions - smaller size monitor...
(which is not a solution in my case with the 22" lcd native resolution at 1680x1050 and testing lower resolutions with the lcd did not resolve anything)

What to do?
Thank you in advance for any help, opinion or suggestion.
