Good day

I have been getting constant harassing sexual inappropriate sms texts from 'MY SECRET ADMIRER' from this number
+27 87330901107601 is there a way to find out who this person is?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated it.

Thank you
Izabella

Just install Truecaller and move on with your life...

Check that you are not subscribed to any wasp or premium rated services.

If you don't know how to check then call your SP. They can tell you

Or reply, with even more inappropriate texts. The Japanese nation has given us a wealth of weird, sick and downright disgusting porn genres, and the Germans contributed too. Use this knowledge for good.

At some point, even a pervert will get freaked out.

just check you not subscribed to any Wasps and block the number

block the number
You can't block those numbers. The last 5 digits are not actually part of the number. The first 9 (0873309011) is the actual number it was sent from. These are bulk sms companies. The last 5 are to do with the client or batch. Tomorrow they will be totally different.

As far as TrueCaller please read the T&C's before installing. You are agreeing that you have all your current and future contacts permission to share their details with TrueCaller.

How else do you think TC update their database. Those names don’t just magically be created.

It's not a person, it's likely a service. Block the number as spam on your phone. No need to install anything. DO check up with your service provider that you're not being charged for anything you didn't sign up for.

What if it's her long awaited Nigerian prince?

Surely you can block the first ten digits?

that's called crowdsourcing , how else will true caller know what the numbers are from , of course you could deny it access to your contacts but that's not really fare since you relying on everyone elses and you not contributing

Nothing wrong with that if you're not 100% sure of what they do with your data.
I couldn't care less about their business - I don't owe them anything. I have no trouble using it to find others on it - if you want to hand out your details for the world to see, that's your indaba, not mine.

Your details? Yes fine. But you are agreeing that you also have the permission of all your contacts that you share that data with TC. That is not fair. Particularly since they use that data to generate profit.

Outrageous. Probably some porn-addled associate or colleague.

My own experience (in helping women targeted in this way) is you basically have a choice:

1. Change your number without delay. Yes it's a hassle, but it does stop the messages, either permanently or until the sicko gets your new number.

2. Block and/or ignore the messages until the sicko stops.

In one particularly bothersome case the targeted woman's employer had the expectation/etiquette that cellnumber are shared with colleagues and clients. We got her a dual-SIM phone and the employer to pay for a work-only SIM. Went through three numbers when through a lucky break and a slip-up we identified the pest and had him fired. SAPS were utterly useless.

In this day and age with so much social media chances are your basic information is out there anyway none the less you can disagree on truecaller (which is off topic) but i suggested this for the OP who is having an issue and I don't see you giving any advise just instead of gunning down everyone's suggestions
