Hey,

Was just about to make my own thread. Glad I found this one. The ISPs I've been with thus far all suc in respect to DL.

I'm on a 1MB line and have had uncapped service with MWEB. One day, out of the blue, there's a "Telkom Network Failure" and all of a sudden...my speed drops to below 512k. On some nights...that the most I get. Others, its about 256k.

Currently with Afrihost, the first month was AWESOME! On 1 Jan 2013, EVERYTHING changed! First, I was apparently put in the "sin bin" cos I was a "high usage" customer and they shaped the crap out of me. Then...the story was changed and I'm told its not that. Its about supply /demand. At the moment...my DL speed is equivalent to that of a 33.6k modem! WTH!!!???

All ISPs obviously prioritise services using QoS and access-lists for best effort and protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP, Streaming, Gaming and P2P is right at the bottom of the list. Now this, I understand but to apply it after 8PM in the evening?

So...my question is...

Right now, who is the best to go with where I will be getting what I pay for? 1MB, Uncapped.

Thanks in advance

Just come from M-CUC. Don't know Plugg but from some of the reviews I've seen the should be UNPluggED

anyone else?

I trying to DL a new OS using a DL manager. The size is 3.5GB. Started it at 3PM downloaded a WHOPPING 285MB since I started. AH is quickly going down the toilet. Me thinks that ISP of the Year thing was just a publicity stint to get more unsuspecting customers?

SHAME ON YOU!!! I AM cancelling my account but need another ISP. Not too fond of ISP hopping. Suppose you get what you pay for but I think in SA its a case of...to get screwed, you must be willing to pay...

No wonder Mongolia is by far way ahead of us with respect to bandwith and download speeds

Cancel your internet. Not sure where you read the terrible plugg reviews or why you hate mweb. Perhaps you should try Afrihost or telkom.
