My Desire died last night.... 
It fell out of my pocket and the LCD is gone.... no picture... the "touchscreen" digitizer is fine since I can unlock the phone... Select the phone app and I hear the touch tones of the dial pad.
Any ideas how I can do a nandroid Backup? Not sure exactly which version of recovery, but it's the one with the violet/purple text. The Tom my phone is running is MIUI-au the version released on 1 august.
My options...
1) Send the phone to HTC, it's still under warranty but I doubt LCD breakage is covered
2) Buy an LCD digitizer from ebay and do a self repair...
3) take it to one of those Pakistani cell repair shops and let them do it....
4) throw the phone in the trash and use an el cheapo phone till my contract is due, April 2012.
5) look for a 2nd hand desire, restore my current rom + data to that.
Right now option 5 sounds best. But I'm inclined to think I won't find a desire below 2k. Also I don't have insurance on the handset, but can I claim from home insurance?
Any advice will be appreciated
