Hey guys,

So I have a Radxa board but can't figure out how to get Linux onto the thing, information on this is very scares on the internet and I have found a wiki page explaining how to flash the device but I cant even seem to get the device into recovery mode to flash it, does anybody know how this thing works?

Any help on how to get Linux onto it will be awesome.

Thanks in advance. :o

I can probably help you. I run the cubieforums.com site!

(Similar product, same people, but on A20 chipset, the Radxa is RK1388 chipset)

It should ship with Android on the nand? Does it boot to that at least?
You'll need to make an image and burn to SD to boot linux on there, or use the flasher to write to the nand.

Yes it does boot to Android, I have an SD card (8GB) to burn linux onto but I just cant seem to figure out how, here's not much info regarding that on the internet, some how to's is just too technical for me.

Would you be able to give me a few basic steps on how to boot say "Ubuntu" from the SD card?, and how to get the image onto the SD card?

Thank you, much appreciated. :)

I'll assume you have the windows drivers installed, and know how to put it into recovery mode?
(See here - http://wiki.radxa.com/Rock/flash_the_image )

First, you need to write something to the boot config on the device, then create an SD card image (see this link)

How are you with Linux? Or only really used to Windows?
You'll probably need to have a Linux VM going so that you can do stuff. Windows is a bit limiting.

After reading the comments section, I found a tutorial here - http://www.hagensieker.com/styled-26/index.html

Thats for writing to the nand, but will work for you, as long as you don't mind wiping Android from it!

Hi Isheed_cn,

I'm considering getting a Radxa. Is there a place to get them in South Africa? I've done a lot with Raspberry Pi's, but need something more powerful for a project.
