hi

the sa models of the ix35 dont come with the led daytime running lights however the models overseas do.

does anyone know where i can get those led headlights here locally or would i have to ship them here from korea or wherever ?

thanks

no one ? anyone ? guess my only choice will be to import them myself ?

Haven't seen any on the roads here so I doubt they are available.

What about the Sportage? They have them..

was my first choice :D until i found out about their customer service... the ix seemed the better deal

Try ebay...you're probably better off importing them yourself anyway.

Just checked myself out of interest - I can find exactly 2 listings, and they're horrid-looking things that a) stick onto the bumper with 3M double-sided tape, and b) won't fit Euro-spec (which I'm sure we get) IX35s. Different bumper mouldings by the look of it.

I meant for complete light :)

Sure, but from what I can see on google images it seems that neither Hyundai, nor anyone else for that matter, do DRLs in the main cluster on the IX35s... Unless my googl-fu is teh suck, which it might well be.

This has to be the one gripe I have with both Hyundai and Kia.
They remove a lot of features that are standard on overseas entry level models and most of those features are extremely cheap to include.

Examples:
- No RDS on local models. i20, Cerato, Koup. The hardware is there but the local firmware doesn't allow it or needs to be fiddled with to enable.
- Seat belt warning disabled on Cerato - does the switch and piece of wire to the seat belt mechanism cost an arm and a leg?
- No passenger airbag disable button on the Cerato. How much does a button and some wire cost?

Surely the removal of those features can't be generating massive savings?

Have you contacted your local Hyundai dealer? It might just be a simple case of them shipping in new headlight clusters and fitting them for you too. Will also make sure you don't invalidate your warantee. I'm sure they import parts for repairs, etc.

That's a good thing, can't stand them.

You like driving without a seat belt on?
I love the seat belt warning systems and I wish a law was introduced that ensured that they are fitted to both the front and back seats on all motor vehicles.

I think you missed my point.

i.e. If you have passengers in the back they must be forced to wear seat belts as well otherwise you're going to have that annoying ding-ding-ding sound just like the front seats.
Most vehicles only have the warning for the front seats.

sorry misread that

Saw this led's on a Kia forum once, step for step how to install, where to buy, etc. So try a Hyundai forum. It is not only RSA that got this funny rules or features remove from models.

was looking for the headlight unit but i see online there's mostly only the DIY kits for adding the leds. and the actual head unit might not even fit on our models because its slightly different. oh well guess i'll have to live with it as it is. dont want to mess up the warranty and maintenance plan

I agree 100% for the front but wouldn't like to see it introduced on the rear seats. I often carry items on my back seat and it would he hugely annoying if I had to keep attaching the belt in to just stop the noise
