So my line was upgraded on Monday from 4Mbps to 10Mbps (per my request last week) and ever since the upgrade I've been having endless problems.
On Monday afternoon, according to my router I was syncing at 10Mbps while the attainable rate was 12Mbps. I first that that all was good and then at around 17:30 my connection dropped badly.
My child was watching a show on Netflix and suddenly the picture quality goes to hell and then Netflix pops up with an error saying I must check my internet connection. I attempt a bit of browsing and so forth and try to access speedtest but my connection has basically gone to hell in a handbasket. I first try a hard reset of the router, but nothing. Then try another ADSL account (from a different ISP) but the issue remains.
Upon checking my router (2750U) I see the line is syncing at 6Mbps for some reason. I reset the thing and when I check again I see it's syncing at 10Mbps again however the state of my connection hasn't changed...still borked.
So after some time fiddling, resetting, switching accounts to no avail I noticed that my router was re-syncing on it's own. I then checked the stats page on the router and saw it was synced at 7Mbps.
I originally posted in THIS thread because I thought it was ASSIA that was causing me headaches but according to another forum member, my router stats indicate that ASSIA is not enabled for my line?
Tonight I was having more problems...random automatic re-sync's ranging from 6Mbps and 7Mbps right down to 3Mbps:

My router re-synced again while I was typing this post and I'm now sitting at 5Mbps:

All this is happening on a "supposed" 10Mbps line which I'm being billed for while it seemingly can't do 10Mbps.
This is frustrating as hell and Netflix is pretty much useless to me right now due to this nonsense.
Anyone have an idea whats going on here? I'll ask Telkom to recreate my port tomorrow and see if that helps but at this stage I'm regretting this upgrade. For years my 4Mbps line was running rock solid but all that this upgrade has done is give me problems.
