Help me choose a VOIP provider

Hi All,

I'm working on a plan to move to fibre as soon as physically possible and would like to get a VOIP line setup and operating prior to that if possible. I'm not sure what my options are. Obviously cost will be important but acceptable service also needs to be equally as important. I'd really appreciate any advice and guidance you can share with me.

Free: www.freshphone.co.za (powered by Euphoria)
R50: https://www.switchtel.co.za/services/voip-line

I have the 4 channel business trunk for R100 from Switch. Very happy with their service so far!

Hello, I know this has been discussed before sorry. Initially we wanted to go with IS Ignite, but we had horrible customer service so far, so they are out.

We currently have Telkom's hunting facility I think that is what it is called? So we have 2 special numbers from telkom that we cannot lose. It is those 0861 numbers. (non-geographic)

Firstly will a VOIP solution be possible keeping in mind we need to keep the 0861 numbers?

Secondly the rates we would like is:

Local (landline)
R0.20c

Mobile
Vodacom - R 0.22
MTN - R 0.22
Cell C - R 0.30
Telkom - R 0.35

Who do I call?

where do you base? try iBound 031 832 3300

You cannot port 086 numbers, but your new VoIP provider can assign you with a phone number and you can ask Telkom to put a call forward on the 0861 numbers to go to the new VoIP number. I have done this before with my clients and it has worked very well. I run a small VoIP company, PM me if you want more info.

But this incurs a R0,74/min charge on every call you receive.

Back in the market, anyone wants to send me some quotes?
Must be able to keep our 086 numbers

Since my post in June I actually relooked this and ended up with a Euphoria solution. Works really well and does everything I need. Converted to CT office over and moving PE end of the month.

You have some contact details for me?

If all you want to do is accept that number for inbound, then maybe we can help. It gets tricky (legally) if you want it to display on outbound.

Drop me a PM.
